If You Hate “Selling Yourself,” Read This

Let’s be honest.

Most of us didn’t choose the path of entrepreneurship, consulting, or creative work because we love selling.

I chose it because I believe in something. Because I saw a gap, and knew I could fill it. Because I wanted to use my voice, my vision, my craft… to make a difference.

And yet, no matter how powerful our work is, we eventually hit a frustrating wall:

How do I talk about what I do in a way that feels powerful… without sounding fake, rehearsed, or salesy?

Here’s the truth: Selling isn’t about pushing. It’s not about being loud, slick, or manipulative. It’s not about becoming someone you’re not.

Selling, at its best, is simply the art of being seen. Being heard. Being understood. It’s about presence, not performance. It’s about resonance, not rehearsed scripts.

And most importantly: it’s about believing in the value of what you offer so fully, that others can’t help but lean in.

Speaking & Sales Mastery

An evening of bold ideas, real conversations, and intentional growth. If you’ve ever:

  • Avoided talking about your offers because it feels icky

  • Struggled to explain what you do without overcomplicating

  • Wished you could pitch your work without second-guessing yourself

...this space is for you.

This isn’t a half-day of lecture. It’s a room full of thoughtful, purpose-led humans learning to speak with clarity, lead with presence, and yes, sell with more ease.

What You’ll Walk Away With:

  • A fresh, confident way to describe your work that actually lands.

  • The tools to show up with conviction in client conversations (without performance).

  • Language that sells without sounding like a sales pitch.

  • The clarity to explain what you do and why it matters—in a way people remember.

TOOLKIT: Speak with Clarity, Sell with Ease

Three Micro-Shifts That Make Selling Feel Natural:

1. Speak from transformation, not tasks.

Early on, I used to say things like “I run a leadership program” or “I coach entrepreneurs.” But here’s what changed everything: When I started focusing on what changes for the person I work with, not what I do, people listened differently.

Instead of:

“I help people with executive presence.”

I say:

“I help thoughtful leaders show up with confidence, speak with clarity, and become visible without becoming someone they’re not.”

2. Connect emotion to outcome.

Most of us try to explain what we do with logic. But people don’t buy logic—they buy relief. They buy the feeling of finally being seen, of solving a real problem, of being free from self-doubt.

So I ask myself: What does my work help people feel?

Is it clarity? Momentum? Confidence? Peace? Power?

The moment I name that emotion and connect it to a real outcome, like launching a signature speech, signing a dream client, or finally getting visible, my message lands in both the head and the heart.

3. Let your energy do the selling.

You can have all the right words, but if you’re not standing in belief… it won’t land.

This one took me the longest to learn.

Now I ask: Do I believe in what I’m offering? Do I know it works? Am I excited for the person in front of me to experience it?

If the answer is yes, then I let that energy lead the conversation. Your presence is your best proof. Use it.

One Action You Can Take Today:

Rewrite your elevator pitch, but start with the transformation you create, not your job title. Example: “I help people who hate selling themselves show up with clarity and confidence.”

💬 Let’s make it real. You don’t need to become someone else to speak and sell with impact. You just need a space where your real voice is welcomed and sharpened.

That’s what this evening is.

See you there,
