How High-Skilled Immigrant Women Thrive
by Shivangi Walke
Have you ever felt like you belong everywhere and nowhere at the same time?
For high-skilled immigrant women, success is often a paradox. You’ve built a life across borders, mastered new cultures, and achieved career milestones—yet, there’s an underlying feeling of being unseen, unheard, or misunderstood.
WanderWomen is more than a book.
It’s a guide, a mirror, and a movement. Drawing from real-life experiences, research, and the journeys of women who have walked this path before, this book unpacks the unspoken challenges of reinvention, identity, and belonging.
What You’ll Discover in WanderWomen
✅ How to navigate career shifts, societal expectations, and personal identity as a high-skilled immigrant woman.
✅ The "Unholy Trinity"—the hidden barriers that hold women back from thriving in new environments.
✅ A proven framework to move from Navigate → Integrate → Elevate, designed specifically for women like you.
✅ Real stories of resilience, reinvention, and breaking free from limitations.
✅ How to build a powerful network and step into leadership, even in unfamiliar territory.
The WonderWomen book — WOW. It’s not just a great read; it’s full of powerful messages and quotes that deeply resonate with me. It’s one of the rare books I’ve found myself highlighting as I read. It couldn’t have come at a better time. The phases of Braving, Building, and Becoming have given me so much to reflect on, both personally and professionally."
"Beyond all of this, I’m incredibly grateful for the relationship we’ve built. Your trust and belief mean so much. I value every time we have an opportunity to meet in Lausanne. I truly value the openness, support, and mutual respect we share. Thank you again for being such a positive force and inspiration for me and for many HSIW."

Why I Wrote This Book
As a high-skilled immigrant woman, I’ve personally faced the challenges of proving myself in unfamiliar environments. WanderWomen was born from my desire to help others like me recognize their strengths, navigate obstacles, and redefine leadership. This book reflects interviews with over 100 inspiring women and my 25 years of coaching experience.
I’m Shivangi Walke, a Leadership Branding coach and founder of ThriveWithMentoring. Inspired by my own career setback post-maternity leave, I am passionate about spotlighting the unique struggles and triumphs of immigrant women and building a global movement of empowerment through WanderWomen.
